Treasurer’s ReportDavid Ziesmer presented the November treasurer’s report

 

 Acknowledgements/Announcements

1.      $200 donation to the Building Fund from Ray and Dori Tamura.

2.      $75 donation to the Building Fund from Dave, Romina, and Isabella Wakayama.

3.      $200 donation to the Building Fund from the Ikenobo Club.

JARCC – Sam Sunada

·        The work being done on the roof at the front of the building is finished.  It should be good for another ten years.

  • Congratulations to the newly elected cabinet and board of the JARCC.

Buddhist Fellowship - Sharon Akiyama

  • Please order mochi by December 7th.  See the flyer for details.  All are welcome to come help make mochi on Sunday, December 13th.  Work will begin at 7:00 A.M.
  • The final service for 2009 will take place on Saturday, December 5th.  Rev. Kujo will be our speaker. A potluck dinner will follow.

Jr. YBA – Sharon Akiyama

 

  • No report.

 

Nippongo Gakuen – Jon Kubokawa, Arlene Nielsen

  • Preparations for the Holiday Party on Sunday, December 6th continue. The theme of the event is “A World at Peace.”  There will be entertainment, a cookie decorating craft, and a potluck dinner.  Donation bins for Blue Star Moms of America are in the entry.  Items for troops and/or K-9 service dogs can be placed in the bins at the event.  

 

  • Donations to cover the shipping costs of the care packages are also being accepted. See the flyer for details.  Donations for our raffle have been received from Trader Joe’s, Jo’s Sushi Bar, Sugi Japanese Gift Shop, Safeway (@ Ygnacio and Oak Grove), Rocco’s, Miki’s Paper (Berkeley), Open Sesame, Diablo Foods, and more. Please join us for a fun filled evening.

Athletic Club – Dave Uemura

·         We have 15 teams this year. Games will be starting the weekend of December 5th. Games held in our gym won’t begin until after December 18th.

Building Superintendent – Jon Yokoyama

·         Sometime in December, hopefully during winter break, the concrete near the west gate will be patched. Please be aware that the west gate will be closed during this repair.

Gardeners’ Club – Judith Aono

  • The Installation Dinner will be held on Sunday, December 6th.  New officers will be announced.

Ikenobo Club – Pat Baba

  • The Annual Flower Arranging Class will be held on December 29th.  The traditional New Year’s Day arrangement will be taught.

 

JASEB –  Sharon Akiyama

 

  • No report.

 

 

 

  Judo Club - Conrad Hisaka

 

  • The last local tournament of the year will be held Sunday, December 6th at City College of San Francisco. A few of our students will be competing.

 

  Diablo Kendo Club – Judith Aono

 

  • No report.

 

Shinwakai – Sharon Akiyama

 

  • Thanksgiving luncheon was held last weekend. Everyone had fun and new members were welcomed.
  • Shinwakai members were invited to the Holiday Party.
  • The New Year’s Potluck will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010.  We are hoping that everyone attends.

 

  Diablo Taiko Club – Sheryl Nakamura

 

  • The Diablo Taiko Club will be performing at the Holiday Party.
  • JA Club members are invited to our Beginners Workshop that will be held in January. More details to come.

 

   Summer Festival – Ron Onizuka

     Old Business

·         The JA Club Installation Dinner will be held on Monday, January 18th at Suwa Restaurant. Social hour will begin at 6:00 P.M. and dinner will be served at 7:00 P.M. The cost of the dinner is $15 for JA Club members and $30 for non-JA Club members.

 

·         The new slate for the 2010 JA Club Board was voted on as approved.  The 2010 Board members are as follows.

·        The Rossmoor Senior Center would like to have members of our club perform at one of their dinners. Any group interested in putting together a performance, please contact Sharon Akiyama.
