  • David Kitagawa, 43 years old, died suddenly last week.  The family has been active for the past 30 years since moving here from Southern California.  David was the driving force for the family to join the J.A. Club.  Yukio related that David rode his bike to the hall and waited for people so that he could find out about the activities.  He wanted to join in the activities, like basketball, and brought his parents because you had to pay dues to join the club.  Services will be held for David in Newport Beach this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday.  On Sunday, his fellow surfers will honor his memory with a “paddle out” at the beach.
